Gratefulness & time in Mirleft: Photo Journal 6

A moment to celebrate gratefulness & some things that are bringing me joy currently.

I have been on a little hiatus here on the blog. A lot has happened and I struggle sometimes to find my words as everything that I do and that I have experienced has been big in my life. I want to find time to share about some of these experiences and updates, and have decided to center this post and the next around gratefulness.

I am back in Morocco and have been finding so much gratitude in the little things in my life and also for the big things that have taken place. 2025 was a year of many things: creativity, growth, learning, and grounding. I am carrying this now with me into 2026.

So I will start off now with a little post about a trip I took to Mirleft. This town is three hours south of where I have been living and I rented a car and drove down. This time in the south was much needed and very rejuvenating. A time that my soul needed.

Reuniting with dear friends, so grateful for them.

A carpet shop on the main street.

A little trip to Sidi Ifni, lots of Moroccan and Spanish style buildings.

Murals in Sidi Ifni.

Tagines in the market.

Visiting Legzira Beach.

A motorbike and some beautiful colors in town.

More wandering.

A photo Eja took of me walking to the beach in Legzira.

This past fall and winter has been a very rainy in Morocco, which is quite uncommon. One of the silver linings of all of this rain has been the beautiful green that has been appearing and growing all around the hills and landscapes. I have never seen Morocco so green and what a gift it is.

Starting to learn pottery - something that has been on my bucket list for years and something that is a little joy in my life at the moment.

I love to create and creating in pottery is a very grounding practice. In some ways it feels like self care and the feeling of trying something new and gradually improving and learning more each week is a lovely practice.

Pottery wheels!!

Two coffee cups I made in my first class.

Beautiful ceramic pieces made by my teacher.

And of course a little shoutout this little cutie patootie I am most grateful for!

Thank you for being here - always.

Love, Annelie
